I've been in a serious *funk* for the past week.
No painting, no pimping, no working, no.... nothing.
It fecking sucks, and I'm hoping these beers I'm drinking now, will help me get over it already!
Seriously. I need to pull my head out of my ass and get back to the blissful chaos that is my life. :-/

Since the end of march I've been trying to figure out just what happened to her.
Today I was finally in contact with some one at the gallery who knew what was going on, and it turns out....
she's been sitting at the gallery this whole time, in a storage room.
Phew! I'm glad I know that she is safe, and will be returning home soon!
Now, I just hope she can be put back into the show in Oct...crossing my fingers.

**Painted ta-ta's today, perky young ones, and old sagging ones.
Hoping to jump into another show, that has a deadline of the 17th...shit.
(See, how obsessive I'm getting with these shows? lol.)

Just got a check from Art-O-Mat today (yeah!)

Seems I have a few pieces in their machines, at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, and at Whole Foods in Raleigh NC.
The card they sent also noted that my current inventory was at half....ummm...need to put that on the "to do list!"

Today I pushed some paint around, then worked on some 'picturing' for a show in Sept.
The only reason why I did the Sept. stuff now, was because I didn't want to finish the current project I was working on.
"Productive Procrastination" hahaha!

I'm swamped in projects right now.
I really REALLY want to venture out of painting for a bit, and have some fun.
I have a show possibility coming up in Aug, that just might let me have a "painting break" and do some mixed media/3-d stuff. :-)

Still missing a show for Nov...already booked another one for Jan 2010...Nov is bothering me. I wanted to reach this insane goal, and now one little month stands in my way...dammit!
I WILL NOT be trying to do art shows every month, for all of next year...maybe only half the year. :-)

I have a show coming up in NY. The Deadline to get my work there is the 13th of July...I decided that I would make my own deadline the First of July instead...because these kind of things involve a lot of hemming and hawing over...not to mention the whole 'boat thing'...and everyday life getting in the way.
I have known about this show for 3 months or so. Decided that I WOULD NOT PRODUCE ANY NEW WORK for it. Usually I like to produce sparkling, brand new work, for each show.

Gawd! I cannot believe how obsessed I am with these fecking boats!
My artistic obsessions, are usually brief. (the other ones linger...for decades, lol!)
The boat thing is frustrating, time consuming, (because I have a lot of other stuff to do) and I'm really not liking the paintings.
There's nothing wrong, with the actual paintings, I just don't really like them, right now.

**We've had prolly about 100 or so dragon flies in the yard every day for the past few days...it's been a pleasure to take a break from those stupid, fecking boats, and go dragon fly hunting with the camera.
This morning, a dragon fly actually landed ON the camera. :-)

**My gardenia and day lilies are almost done blooming. I'm going to be sad to see them go... it's such a treat to have this abundance of flowers around. The day lilies were exceptionally tall this year, I guess because of all the rain we had?
My tiger lilies are blooming right now...well, one of the plants is, something ate the other one up. :-/

**It's been hot, hot and hot here. I have an AC in the studio, but don't use it until I'm melting.
Since hot and humid, extends the "open time" on acrylics. lol.

**I have nothing else that's interesting to post.

**2 shows to get ready for. One in Atlanta, one in NY...the NY one is causing me grief...but the good kind of grief.

**Had to quit painting early today, the studio was too friggin hot...and the pool was crying because it was lonely.
Heh.

**I think one of my paintings is lost in oblivion. Still have not got it back from the gallery...it's been since March...and that painting was supposed to go into another show, in October.
OMG! I'm so pissed!

After a insane run with being selected into art show, after art show, after art show.
Last week, I got my ass shredded up, and handed back to me.
In the form of rejection, after rejection, after fecking rejection. oooof.
Which made working on paintings, for the next few shows I have...difficult to say the least.
Ah well, win some-lose some. I guess. :-/
Right now I'm trying to focus on what's coming up in the next few months.
I'm a little gun shy about entering into any new competitions or shows. lol!!
I've not hit the 'feck em' phase yet.
So I'm not able to use the rejections as fuel...yet.

It's a picture of Bob I took a while back.
I used to love trying to take pictures of Bob, because of the way the light reflected in the water in his tank.
(when it was clean, lol.) And trying to get pictures of him, while he was zooming around was...interesting.
On the other computer we have a macro shot of a lizard in a tree, that the child shot. You can see every detail of the lizard.

Gahhh...We had a visit from a "Serpent of Doom" the other day.



I was the lucky one, who found it and then screamed like a sissy, and peed in my pants yelled for J to come and get it.

He wrangled with it for a few minutes.
But was able to remove it, with out hurting it.

After a night of shows, food, drinks, more drinks, and drinks...oh and making a 'deposit' at the casino...more food, dancing and of course a few more drinks.

We woke up the next morning and the ship was within a few miles of Belize.

I have over 1200 pics of our trip. I'm still meandering thru them and deciding which ones I'll post, keep, turn into prints, etc....
It also occurred to me, that I will have to make multiple entries of this trip.
Due to picture overload.

...and still find some space and time for art pimping...which I'm behind on. :-/

**Been "stupid busy" this last week. Gah....
(it will make those yummy fruity drinks on the cruise, taste that much better, though :-))

We applaud the decision of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to downgrade their previous "Travel Alert" to a "Travel Health Precaution for Mexico." Like our guests we are anxious to return to Mexico.
Yessss!!!! I'm soo happy that all of the plans we made for Mexico are not back on!!

**The child is DONE with high school. Today was her last day...holy shit!
I'm still in disbelief that my wittle, teeny, tiny, baby is graduating from high school.

I think we are all going to wear big funny hats and glasses for her graduation.
Just because we can. ha.
She will have a small grad. party Saturday and then we are outta here!!!

**The man's Bday BBQ was good. My teriyaki short ribs turned out great!
Good food, good company.

**I'm waiting on Jury notifications for 3 more shows.

**I'm now booked for shows up until Oct.
Whew! what started out as a half assed idea, (one art show, in a different city, each month, for a year) has really turned into something grand.
I haven't got them all into a different city, for every month. (Atlanta and New York are repeats)..but that's ok!!
I have managed to pick up 10 so far, for this year.
Working 2-4 months a head of schedule is frying my brain...but that's ok too!
...and I'm actually starting to have thoughts of "what in the hell am I going to do next year?"
seriously, my brain is in crazy mode right now.

**Family flies in tomorrow, we will have a day or two of "catching up" before all the festivities start.

**I'm probably not going to get on here after tomorrow.
So I will wish you all a fabulous week or so of smiles and sunshine, and will return with at least 73 bajillion pictures of our vacation...that I will post all over the place. :-)
....and yes, I will make sure to have a nice beer or 2 for all of you.

Found this little dude, in the front yard today.

It was adorable!!
The smallest baby turtle I've ever seen.
I let it go, back out in the front yard, under some bushes.
I hope the little guy makes it.
It was so tiny and cute, and not timid at all. We all wanted to keep it, but thought it best to let it go...also because those little dudes live a really l o n g time.lol.
